Cade Beck was buried and his core product – avalanche safety gear – couldn’t save him.
That’s because Cade was buried in spreadsheets – not snow. Plus, bad data and manual processes were stalling the growth of his online sporting goods business.
Cade started SnowBigDeal in the back of his Dad’s furniture store while still in high school. He and his family were avid snowmobilers and recognized the need for avalanche protection in the Utah mountains where they sledded.
At first, he was just looking for discounts on equipment, but soon started selling to friends. He kept the business part-time during college, earned his IT degree, and then turned it into a full-time job and expanded sales to eBay and Amazon.
Soon he added other outdoor products like goggles, helmets and other snowmobile and motorcycle gear. The business grew, added employees,and grew more complex.
“We were growing fast and I needed a solution to keep inventory accurate across channels,” Cade recalls. “I was doing everything with spreadsheets and it was way too manual. There was no way to avoid making mistakes or to get caught up.”
A friend mentioned Etail Solutions.

With his inventory back under control, Cade turned to another opportunity: Seller Fulfilled Prime.
Launched in late 2015, Amazon’s Seller Fulfilled Prime (SFP), allows merchants to fulfill Prime orders themselves, shipping from their own warehouses, and saving money by not having to ship to or pay storage at FBA centers. But they also need to meet Amazon’s very high shipping standards.
“I would have never risked this without a platform like Etail,” Cade said. “I had to be absolutely sure that the inventory was really on hand to ship.”
In his first year on the program, Cade said he saw his revenues jump 85% -- more than double the 30-40% sales increase that Amazon predicts sellers typically see by joining SFP.
“There is no way I could have handled that kind of growth without Etail,” Cade said.
