Non-Integrated suppliers

Non-Integrated suppliers can be set up and tied to the items sold by those suppliers. The items and costs can be updated periodically through manual tools or file imports. This approach is best for low volume suppliers.

Integrated suppliers

Integrated suppliers can be set up to allow merchants to integrate with their suppliers over technologies such as EDI, Flatfile via FTP, or via an API. Once Etail establishes the connection with a merchant’s suppliers, Etail can then update item, price, and availability on a scheduled basis. Additionally, Etail can be set up to create drop ship or cross dock purchase orders upon the sale of each item. For drop shippers especially, this can be 100% automated.

Integrated Supplier Capabilities:

Catalog

Dynamic catalog management automates the connections between your system and your sources of data (Suppliers or Digital Content Providers), doing all the heavy lifting, from mapping products, categories, and attribution, to maintaining current pricing and availability information. Catalog integrations can include the following feeds:

  1. Product Information – The “catalog” of items itself. Typically everything they can provide about the items. This may include descriptions, attributes (UPCs, Shipping Weights, etc.), pictures, and whatever else they can provide. Etail can capture any data available and store that in the catalog as an attribute attached to the item.
  2. Availability Feed – Typically several times per day or hourly, although less frequent is acceptable for slow moving items. This allows Etail to track how much stock a supplier has available in order to publish that stock (or a percentage of it) to the various sales channels.
  3. Pricing Updates – This can be run as frequently as needed. For some manufacturers they only change their pricing annually, for high-volume distributors, they may change it several times a day for fast moving products.

Transactional

Etail’s transaction automation enables merchants to drop ship or cross dock in a highly automated fashion. This includes mapping multiple suppliers per product, auto-generating purchase orders, and pulling tracking information back from the supplier to publish to the originating sales channel.
